Benjamin Arp, GIS Specialist
Benjamin (Ben) Arp, GIS Specialist, has over seven years of GIS experience and a GIS Certification from Portland Community College. As a child he was fascinated with maps and would spend hours studying them. Ben’s passion for learning technology and software led him to this career. He is proficient with ESRI Suite, Trimble GPS, AutoCAD, Adobe Suite, Geocortex, SQL, and HTML/CSS. In addition, he is developing and applying his skills in Python scripting. At RECON, Ben is responsible for data maintenance, data collection tool management, analysis, and cartographic standards. He works closely with field staff to produce project analytics and create maps for technical reports, while also increasing his understanding in our region’s local flora and fauna. Outside of RECON, his interests include traveling, hiking, coffee, and science fiction.
